Funerals and interment of ashes

At St Mary's we understand how important it is to have a place of prayer, remembrance and peace as you say goodbye to someone you love.  We feel privileged to support families at this time and to offer a caring, respectful approach to funeral services and acts of remembrance.

As well as funeral services in church, we are able to offer the interment of ashes for those who have a qualifying connection with St Mary's.  Ashes may be buried in our Garden of Remembrance, a quiet and prayerful space where families can return to reflect, remember and give thanks for the life of the person who has died.

The intermet of ashes may take palce following a funeral service held elsewhere or at a later date, and can be arranged as a simple, dignified service led by a member of the clergy.
